Youth Services for Stephens County, Inc. (YSSC) is committed to serving children, youth, adults, and  families through a variety of services.  YSSC was established in 1975.  YSSC is a non-profit, multi-funded agency serving Stephens, Jefferson, and Cotton Counties.  It is the mission of YSSC to enhance and strengthen the emotional health and functioning of youth, adults, and families. 

              YSSC is certified through the Department of Mental Health/Substance Abuse Services.  This certification allows the agency to provide substance abuse services within the communities of our service area.  An important aspect of these programs involves increasing  awareness of the problems associated with substance abuse as well as discouraging youthful involvement in delinquent behaviors.  Assessments are provided as needed.

             Youth Services for Stephens County is designed to meet behavioral and emotional needs of individuals and families. A variety of services and programs are available:

  • Job vacancy: Executive Director

    Summary Description

    Under the direct supervision of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the administration and management of the agency programs, supervision of personnel, regulatory standards and special projects as assigned.

    Employment Standards

    Education & Experience:  Requires a Masters Degree in Business Administration, Behavioral Science, Psychology or Criminal Justice Administration.  Must have a minimum of five years in the social service field, or three years experience in management of social  service programs and personnel.

    Knowledge & Skills

    Must possess knowledge of: Administrative and Management theory, budgeting theory/process, Public Law relating to the social service industry, public relations & marketing, behavioral health rehabilitative services, understanding of social service delivery and standard operational procedure.  Must possess the necessary skills for effective program administration & evaluation, interviewing & public speaking, supervision of personnel, statistical analysis & outcome measurement, effective grant writing, budget management and project coordination.


    Pre-Employment Thresh-holds

    Possession of Masters Degree conferred by an accredited University of Higher Education.

    Pass a pre-employment drug screen and OSBI background check for felony and sexual offenses.

    Finger Print for  (GAO) General Administrative Office

    Credit Report History.

    Individual possession of good character, habit and reputation.

    Physical and emotional capabilities to perform the required duties.
